About First Foundations Academy

First Foundations Academy began with an unexpected turning point.

On Christmas Day in 2022, a burst pipe flooded our Children’s Building, leaving it unusable and inviting a bigger question: How could we rebuild in a way that truly served our community?

As we listened, the need was clear. Families across LaGrange and Troup County were facing long childcare waitlists and struggling to find high-quality, full-day care they could trust while they worked. They wanted more than supervision - they wanted a place where their children could grow, learn, and be known.

First Foundations Academy was created to meet that need.

We offer a faith-forward, literacy-based early learning experience that supports the whole child through play-based, hands-on, and individualized learning in literature, art, science, and motor development. Just as important, we believe strong partnerships with families are essential to helping children thrive.

First Foundations Academy is a ministry of LaGrange First United Methodist Church and will be licensed through Bright from the Start. What began as a challenge has become a calling to build strong foundations for learning, faith, and the future.

Our mission & vision

At First Foundations, our mission is to provide a Christ-centered, curriculum-based learning environment where children thrive and develop a love for learning.

Our vision is to offer excellent early childhood education within a Christian framework, where children explore and understand God’s world.  With a focus on the holistic development of each child and strong partnerships with families and our community, children will have a solid connection to their faith and a deep appreciation for learning that will last a lifetime.
